Currently Figuring Things Out: Mini Milestones and Everything in Between
Share
What a ride it’s been.
This journey started with nothing but an idea and a whole lot of uncertainty. Looking back, it’s honestly surprising how much we’ve grown—not just as a brand, but as a team, as creators, and as individuals. This might just be the most consistent thing the both of us have ever done.
The past few months have been a whirlwind of learning curves, unexpected wins, and inevitable setbacks. We’ve had to figure out how to work together, how to grow with intention, and most importantly, how to keep showing up even when things felt impossible.
We’re sharing this because growth isn’t always pretty. Growth is late nights wondering if we’re even doing the right thing. It's moments of imposter syndrome so strong we have to talk each other through it. It’s figuring things out one step at a time and hoping for the best.
But along the way, there have been moments that made us stop, breathe, and think, Wow, we actually did that. So, here are some of our favorite core memories so far since the beginning till February 2025:
Figuring Out How to Do E-Commerce
If Googling and ChatGPT-ing “how to start an online store” counted as a business strategy, we’d be experts. With no roadmap and no experience, we had no choice but to take things one step at a time.
The inertia of setting up shipments, registering the company, and making sense of logistics was overwhelming. There were days when it felt impossible to move forward, but we found comfort in knowing that when one of us took the lead, the other could hold things accountable.
Receiving our Failed Prototype
Nothing quite prepares you for the gut punch of holding something you’ve worked so hard on, only to realize it’s… wrong. We had convinced ourselves it was ready to go—so ready that we ignored the little voice in our heads that whispered otherwise. That moment was a lesson in pride, in patience, in learning how to detach from the illusion of perfection.
It sucked. But looking back, that failure was a turning point. It forced us to rethink everything, strip things down to the essentials, and rebuild with clearer intent. In the end, it made our product so much better.
Holding Our First Product in our Hands
We spent so long imagining this moment, but nothing compared to actually holding it. After months of testing, tweaking, and second-guessing, it was finally real. For a while, we just sat there, staring at it, letting the reality of it all sink in.
And then—we screamed like kids. It was one of those pinch-me moments that reminded us why we started this in the first place.
Trialing our Podcast
We weren’t sure if anyone would listen, but we knew we wanted to talk—about our journey, our struggles, the things we’re figuring out along the way. It’s been weird, vulnerable, and, at times, downright chaotic. We tend to talk a lot, and figuring out how to structure our thoughts so people actually want to listen has been a challenge in itself.
But it’s also been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. We’re learning how to tell stories that resonate, how to build a system that works, and how to trust that our voices matter. It’s still a work in progress, but we’re getting there.
Hand-delivering our First Orders
There’s something surreal about seeing names pop up—real people who chose to support us, who believed in what we were building. It was also so exciting meeting some of them in person. Every single order felt like a heartfelt vote of confidence, a moment of shared belief that went far beyond a simple business transaction. We are super grateful to every individual who placed their trust in us, including our first 'real' customer who wasn’t a friend or family member. Their trust and support not only bolstered our confidence but also deepened our commitment to making something truly special.
Fulfilling our First Huge Order
If our first few sales felt like magic, our first big order felt like proof. Proof that this was growing into something bigger than us. Proof that what we were building had value.
It was chaotic, exhausting, and a logistical nightmare at times, but seeing everything packed up and ready to go filled us with a deep sense of pride. It was one of those “holy shit, this is actually happening” moments that we’ll never forget.
Hosting our First Journaling Workshop
The fear was real. What if no one showed up? What if it was awkward? What if we poured our hearts into this, only for it to fall flat?
But the moment we saw people actually engaging—actually caring—all those nerves melted away. Seeing people show up, connect, and find value in what we created was overwhelming in the best way possible. It reminded us of why we started this in the first place.
Creating Content Consistently
We overthink everything. We draft, delete, rewrite, and question ourselves way too much. But at some point, we realized the magic isn’t in getting it perfect—it’s in simply showing up.
So, we post anyway. We document the journey, we share what we’re learning, and we embrace the imperfections. Little by little, we’re learning to love the process.
The biggest lesson so far? Hard things feel a little less scary when you’re not doing them alone.
Every misstep, every late night, every “what are we even doing?” moment has led us here. And the best part? We’re just getting started.
